Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our team at Daycare H. As an Assistant Teacher, you will support our lead educators in creating a safe and stimulating environment for young children to learn and grow. Your passion for early childhood education and commitment to providing exceptional care will play a key role in fostering a positive learning experience for our little learners.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teacher in planning and implementing educational activities that meet children's developmental needs.
- Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being in the classroom.
- Maintain a clean and organized learning environment.
- Provide individual attention and care to children as needed.
- Facilitate group activities to enhance social and cooperative skills.
- Help children with daily routines like meals, bathroom breaks, and nap times.
- Observe and record children's behavior and progress for review.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians about children's experiences.
- Prepare teaching materials as directed by the lead teacher.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions.
- Enforce classroom rules and disciplinary measures according to daycare policy.
- Support the integration of special needs children respectfully.
- Encourage creative expression through art, music, and play.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by lead teacher or daycare management.
Pay / Schedule
Full-time and Part-time positions available.
$16-19/hour based on experience.
9-hour shift with a one-hour lunch break.
Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 5:30pm, no weekends.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in early childhood education preferred.
- 1+ year experience in daycare or educational setting.
- Understanding of child development stages and age-appropriate behaviors.
- Effective communication skills with children and adults.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and assist in lesson plan implementation.
- Patience, flexibility, and basic first aid/CPR certification.
- Pass background check, health screening, including TB test.
- Strong observational and reporting skills.
- Creativity to engage children in learning activities.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
- Adherence to daycare's policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
- Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment.
- Bilingual abilities a plus depending on demographics.
