Description: Bulger Veterinary Hospital is seeking a dedicated Central Sterile Technician to join our team in maintaining sterile conditions for all surgeries within our specialty hospital. This entry-level position involves cleaning, sterilizing, setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supporting multiple teams in various hospital areas.
Essential Functions:
- Collaboration with department supervisors for adequate sterile supplies
- Decontamination, assembly, and distribution of surgical supplies
- Setting up surgical suites and maintaining equipment
- Inventory control and expiration date monitoring
- Routine testing of autoclaves
- Cleaning tasks to maintain surgical area standards
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Strong desire to learn and apply knowledge
- Experience in veterinary specialty surgical service preferred
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn hospital information systems
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- High school diploma and related job experience
