Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic (Heavy Truck) to join River States Truck And Trailer, a leading family of Freightliner and Western Star dealerships. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, and troubleshooting various types of truck equipment. Your role also includes working independently, maintaining detailed repair records, completing necessary forms promptly, and providing top-notch customer service.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions on Class 6-8 vehicles.
- Work independently with a high degree of accountability.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and parts used.
- Complete DOT and other forms accurately and promptly.
- Maintain a clean work area and handle tools responsibly.
- Provide excellent customer service and offer solutions to customer concerns.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay up-to-date with new technologies.
- Adhere to company safety policies and collaborate with colleagues.
- Assist in training apprentice diesel mechanics.
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience as a diesel technician on Class 6-8 vehicles.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to pass background and drug tests.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a team-oriented environment.
- Preferred: Class A CDL, technical degree, A/C, Brake, and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications.
