Job Description
Sevita, a leading provider of home and community-based specialized health care, is looking for compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to join our mission-driven team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will work in community settings to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them live independently and achieve their goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide transportation and accompany individuals on outings, medical appointments, and shopping trips.
- Assist with daily living skills like meal preparation and medication administration.
- Offer guidance on developmental goals such as community participation, budgeting, and vocational responsibilities.
- Support personal care activities like grooming, bathing, and hygiene.
- Redirect and manage agitated or aggressive behaviors effectively.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, or 5 years of caregiving experience.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Six months of human services experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle with insurance.
- Clear background checks and a reliable, compassionate attitude.
