Job Description

Floyd Snider, an employee-owned environmental consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Environmental Planner to join their collaborative team. As an Environmental Planner at Floyd Snider, you will play a critical role in helping clients obtain environmental permits and approvals for various projects, with a focus on infrastructure or habitat projects along the water's edge.

Responsibilities

  • Develop permitting plans and strategies that meet client needs while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technical experts, and regulatory agencies to facilitate successful project outcomes.
  • Review and synthesize technical content to support the development of comprehensive permit applications.
  • Participate in client and partner meetings to guide applications to success.

Requirements

  • Degree in environmental science, planning, policy, or a related field.
  • 4-8 years of experience with environmental reviews and permitting.
  • Strong familiarity with federal, state, and local permitting processes, including in-water permitting, land use permits, SEPA, and NEPA documentation.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and partners.
  • Consulting experience in the Puget Sound region preferred.
