Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Valley Counseling Services, a program of Family & Community Services Inc. This full-time position involves working closely with our clinical and medical directors to provide essential nursing care to our clients.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications under supervision and as per medical orders.
• Provide emergency care and first aid services when required.
• Assist in monitoring and reporting client behavior and health status.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and committees to stay informed and updated on procedures and policies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to deliver quality care.

Qualifications

• Skill in medication administration and health information recording.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention, psychotropic medications, and DSM diagnoses.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients.
• Training in First Aid, CPR, and De-escalation techniques.
• Current LPN licensure in Ohio with medication administration training.

Requirements

• Practical nursing degree from an accredited institution.
• Prior experience in mental health nursing preferred.
• Valid Ohio Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• Clear criminal background check from Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation.
• Physical ability to perform essential job functions.

Compensation

$21-$21 hourly wage.
