Job Description
We are looking for a Deck Engineer to join our Hornblower Wind - CTV operation at Seaward Services, a part of City Experiences. As a Deck Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting vessel operations through the maintenance of machinery and equipment. Reporting to the Master, your technical aptitude and understanding of the vessel's capabilities will be essential. In addition to engineering responsibilities, you will also assist with deck operations.
Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of the vessel captain in a safe and methodical manner.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on diesel engines, marine gears, hydraulic systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and more.
- Assist with heavy machinery maintenance and repair work.
- Perform underwater machinery maintenance, vessel plumbing maintenance, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Participate in dry dock repairs and daily top-side responsibilities.
- Assist with line handling, loading/offloading, fueling, and other operational tasks.
- Participate in a 2-week rotational schedule living onboard the vessel.
- Complete other assigned duties as necessary.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- USCG MMC with ABS endorsement.
- Prior experience in marine engineering or related fields.
- Strong background in machinery and motor vessel maintenance.
- Ability to work in a team and willingness to learn from experienced peers.
Compensation
Salary: $350/day
