Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Marine Deck Engineer to join our Hornblower - City Experiences team. As a Deck Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operations of our vessel through the maintenance of machinery and equipment. Reporting to the Master, you will be responsible for ensuring the vessel operates smoothly by leveraging your technical expertise and understanding of the vessel's capabilities. This position also involves assisting with deck operations alongside your engineering duties.

Responsibilities

  • Performing preventative maintenance on diesel engines and other machinery on passenger vessels.
  • Assisting with heavy machinery maintenance and repair work under the company Port Engineer's guidance.
  • Conducting underwater machinery maintenance and repairs both onboard and in dry dock.
  • Handling vessel plumbing maintenance and repairs.
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining vessel electrical systems.
  • Repairing pneumatic engine starters and controls.
  • Assisting with dry dock repairs, including staying onboard during the period.
  • Collaborating with the Captain and Mate on top side responsibilities, housekeeping, and maintenance tasks.
  • Participating in ship operations, line handling, loading and unloading, and other operational aspects.
  • Being available for a 2-week rotational onboard schedule.
  • Performing other assigned duties.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • USCG MMC with ABS endorsement.
  • Prior experience as a marine engineer or in related vessel fleets.
  • Strong background in machinery and motor vessel maintenance and repair.
  • Desire to expand engineering knowledge.

Salary

$350/day
