Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Master Mechanic to join the Solid Waste Disposal Authority of Baldwin Co AL. As a Master Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in the repair and maintenance of gasoline and diesel-powered automotive and heavy equipment. In addition to conducting major mechanical tasks, you will also operate heavy equipment, supervise other mechanics, and support the team as needed.
Responsibilities
- Tune engines and conduct various repairs on automotive components.
- Assist in overhauling and replacing parts in engines and other mechanical units.
- Repair electrical systems, braking systems, air conditioning, and hydraulic systems.
- Analyze malfunctions and maintain heavy construction equipment.
- Perform welding, tire replacements, and miscellaneous mechanic duties.
Requirements
- Strong verbal, written, and mathematical skills.
- Proficiency in using hand and machine tools for automotive repair.
- Knowledge of safety rules and first aid procedures.
- Valid driver's license with CDL; Class A preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment operations and maintenance.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in adverse environmental conditions.
Salary
Full Time: $24.29 - $39.78 Hourly Rate
