Job Description
The Southwest Center for HIV AIDS INC is looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant Lead to join our compassionate team. In this role, you will work closely with providers to deliver person-centered care to our diverse community. You will lead and support our Medical Assistant team, ensuring the highest standard of care and service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and update patient records for appointments.
- Assess and prioritize patient needs with critical thinking skills.
- Train and mentor new and existing staff.
- Assist with patient flow, clinical operations, and medication administration.
- Provide client-focused care, including vital signs monitoring and lab work.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain clinic operations.
- Conduct quality controls, process improvement, and regulatory compliance.
- Act as a subject matter expert for the Medical Assistant team.
Requirements
- High School diploma and a medical assisting certificate.
- 3+ years of Medical Assistant experience.
- Cultural competency to serve diverse communities, especially LGBTQIA2S+.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR software.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work effectively in a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EClinicalWorks (ECW).
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Environmental Factors
- Clinic-based work environment with minimal hazards.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and travel within the region.
- Compliance with health-related clearances and certifications.

Compensation: $24.79 per hour
