Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant Lead to join Southwest Center for HIV AIDS INC. As a Lead Medical Assistant, you will play a key role in providing compassionate and inclusive care to our patients, especially those from diverse communities such as people of color, LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, and individuals affected by HIV. Your responsibilities will include training and supporting the Medical Assistant team, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and maintaining a welcoming environment for patients.

Responsibilities

  • Review and update patient records before appointments.
  • Assist in prioritizing and resolving challenges with critical thinking skills.
  • Train and mentor new and established staff.
  • Ensure efficient patient flow and clinical operations.
  • Handle patient-related tasks like vital signs, specimen management, and specimen processing.
  • Provide educational services on HIV and STIs.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties to support clinic operations.
  • Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Clinic Operations Manager on process improvements.
  • Participate in audits and quality control activities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma and Certificate or Diploma in medical assisting.
  • 3+ years of Medical Assistant experience.
  • Cultural competency to serve diverse communities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR software.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EClinicalWorks (ECW).
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
