Job Description
Johnson Regional Medical Center is currently hiring a full-time Medical Technologist to work weekend evenings and overnights. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for processing laboratory specimens and reporting results across various clinical laboratory areas, ensuring adherence to quality control practices.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-complexity testing in blood bank, microbiology, and other areas.
- Inventory and order supplies for different laboratory sections.
- Serve as a lead in designated areas, overseeing testing, quality improvement, and inventory management.
- Interact professionally with laboratory staff, pathologists, and other departments.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation in compliance with standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology; or Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician with 2 years of clinical laboratory experience.
- Certification is preferred.
- Effective communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment such as microscopes, analyzers, and PC's.
- Physical ability to perform tasks in a hospital environment, including lifting up to 35 pounds.
