Senior Buyer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Buyer to join Premier Marine as part of our Purchasing team. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for planning and procuring materials and services, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met. This role involves managing the operational flow of items, working closely with suppliers, and collaborating across functional areas within the organization.

Responsibilities

Buyer/ Inventory Management:

• Order materials based on sales requirements and resolve issues related to purchase orders.
• Identify product availability issues and maintain accurate system planning parameters.
• Analyze forecast accuracy and drive safety stock levels.

Product Analysis/ Process Improvement:

• Optimize material costs through vendor analysis and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Manage material inventory, analyze end-to-end supplier processes, and drive supplier collaboration.

Supplier Relationship Management:

• Lead supplier negotiations and drive supplier performance initiatives.
• Resolve product quality issues and work with accounts payable on vendor billing discrepancies.

Requirements

• Superior problem-solving skills and proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems (EPICOR) and supply chain operations.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain or related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• APICS certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

This role requires sitting, standing, walking the manufacturing floor, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
