Senior Safety & Environmental Specialist

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Safety & Environmental Specialist to join our GHSE team at S&C Electric Company. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating health, safety & environmental activities, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and enhancing operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate health, safety & environmental training for team members.
• Maintain training records and documentation.
• Enhance existing programs and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety & environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with various departments to meet safety objectives.
• Conduct facility audits and inspections.
• Provide safety guidance for operations and programs.
• Prepare and analyze environmental samples.
• Review contractor's safety plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering/Science, or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Experience in incident investigation and risk assessment.
• Proficiency with health, safety & environmental data management software.
• Certifications such as OHST, ASP, or CSP are a plus.

Physical Demands

• Travel to locations for inspections and seminars may be required.
• Physical activities like standing, lifting, and bending may be necessary.
• Computer use and on-call support might be part of the job.
