JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Global Health, Safety & Environmental (GHSE) team, this position assists with company health, safety & environmental activities to assure compliance with legal requirements utilizing economical, effective, and efficient concepts. This position will work closely with Maintenance and Operations to provide technical consultation, support, and guidance to Leadership and Team Members on health, safety & environmental matters.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate health, safety & environmental training for current and new team members.
  • Maintain training records and documentation across the various shifts.
  • Refine existing programs and procedures to improve effectiveness and efficiency, or eliminate their need.
  • Maintain documents showing compliance with programs and procedures.
  • Track Federal, State, and Local health, safety & environmental regulations.
  • Interface with Operations, Engineering, Human Resources, and others to meet safety & environmental objectives.
  • Establish and coordinate facility audits and inspections.
  • Provide safety oversight and advice for existing operations, programs, and procedures.
  • Prepare and analyze environmental samples as needed.
  • Review contractors' health and safety plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Health, Safety & Environmental coordination.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and technical objectives.
  • Design and delivery of training experience.
  • Incident investigation and risk assessment proficiency.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Experience with Health, Safety & Environmental data management software.

Qualifications

  • Occupational Safety & Health Technician (OHST) certification or equivalent.

Major Physical Demands

  • Periodic travel to various locations.
  • Standing, walking, lifting, handling, and computer use.
  • Availability for on-call and after-hours work.
