Senior Safety & Environmental Specialist

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Safety & Environmental Specialist to join our Global Health, Safety & Environmental team. In this role, you will assist in ensuring compliance with legal requirements and enhancing health, safety, and environmental practices within our organization.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct health, safety & environmental training for team members.
• Maintain training records and enhance existing programs for efficiency.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with regulations at federal, state, and local levels.
• Collaborate with various departments to meet safety & environmental objectives.
• Conduct facility audits and inspections to guarantee compliance.
• Provide oversight and guidance on safety & environmental matters.
• Prepare and analyze environmental samples using appropriate instrumentation.
• Review contractors' health and safety plans to mitigate risks effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering/Science, or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated excellence in safety & environmental functions with strong communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and deliver training.
• Proficiency in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Willingness to travel and work off-hours occasionally.
• Prior experience with health, safety & environmental data management software.

Qualifications

• Occupational Safety & Health Technician (OHST) certification or equivalent.

Physical Demands

• Periodic travel to different locations and participation in on-site inspections.
• Ability to engage in physical activities and work with office equipment.
• Availability for on-call duties and after-hours work when necessary.
