Senior Safety & Environmental Specialist

Job Description

S&C Electric Company is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Safety & Environmental Specialist to join our Global Health, Safety & Environmental (GHSE) team. In this role, you will collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, while maintaining efficient and effective processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate health, safety & environmental training initiatives for team members.
• Enhance existing programs for improved efficiency and compliance.
• Conduct facility audits to ensure adherence to regulations; implement corrective actions as needed.
• Provide expert guidance on safety procedures including BBS programs, emergency response plans, hazardous materials handling, and more.
• Analyze environmental samples and data using specialized instrumentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in safety & environmental practices.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to design and deliver training programs.
• Flexibility for occasional off-hours work and travel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional safety certifications.
• Experience with health, safety & environmental data management software.

Physical Demands

• Periodic travel may be required to various locations.
• Ability to perform physical tasks in diverse environments.
• Proficiency in computer use and office equipment.
