Job Description

We are seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to join Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. for a full-time position in Blackfoot (AWS) focused on EC2-Network telemetry and Classic Control Plane. As a key member of the EC2 Networking team, you will lead a group contributing to a new business initiative aimed at enhancing rapid analysis for large-scale EC2 networks, providing highly available control & distribution plane services critical for network connectivity in EC2.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small engineering team, mentor junior engineers, and ensure adherence to best development practices.
  • Collaborate closely with the team to manage day-to-day development activities, make architecture decisions, and drive design, code review, and implementation.
  • Stay current on evolving technologies, explore new tech opportunities, and work with management to implement new advancements.
  • Engage with users, technical teams, and senior management to gather requirements, outline software features, and shape product strategy.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Extensive programming experience in at least one language.
  • Proven track record in leading design or architecture of new systems.
  • Previous mentorship or team leadership roles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
