Solid Waste Technician

Job Description

The Solid Waste Disposal Authority of Baldwin Co AL is looking for a dedicated Solid Waste Technician to join our team. This role involves performing manual labor, operating trucks and light tractors, and ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the SWDA property. The ideal candidate will demonstrate basic skills in equipment operation, have knowledge of traffic regulations, and exhibit a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine manual labor such as mowing grass, pruning shrubs, and removing trash.
• Operate collection trucks and lift garbage cans.
• Drive trucks and light tractors under training status.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License (CDL for promotion).
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and overtime if necessary.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual tasks.
• Compliance with safety regulations and dress standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment, lift and move heavy objects, and work in various environmental conditions.
• Good vision, hearing, and communication skills.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Compensation

Salary Range: $16.54 - $27.10 per hour
