Job Description
First Student, the largest school transportation provider in North America, is hiring a Gas and Diesel Mechanic for the Keene School District shop. As a Technician II, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing General Motors vans and Freightliner school buses to ensure vehicle safety and readiness.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and DOT maintenance inspections.
- Diagnose and repair vehicle components including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
- Guide lower-level technicians and ensure accurate completion of work orders.
- Provide assistance with mobile emergency services.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license; willingness to obtain CDL while employed.
- 3+ years of automotive or diesel maintenance experience or technical education.
- Mechanic's tool set required.
- Participation in ASE certification program; training and testing provided.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical requirements.
