Job Description

Society Insurance Company is looking for a Vice President-Chief Claims Officer to lead the claims activities across all lines of business. As part of the executive team, the VP-Chief Claims Officer will drive operational performance and ensure outstanding results in loss adjustment expenses, loss severity, and customer service. This position requires expertise in insurance contracts, state legal requirements, and industry trends. The successful candidate will establish policies, monitor claim developments, and collaborate with stakeholders to support company growth and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute overall claim direction through strategic planning.
  • Establish policies for claims employees to provide prompt and equitable service.
  • Maintain proper case reserving practices for reserve adequacy.
  • Identify and implement strategies to enhance claims functions efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor claim trends and communicate findings to the executive team.
  • Build and manage business relationships with vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, economics, or related field.
  • 15+ years of multi-line claims handling experience in insurance or comparable industry.
  • 10+ years of leadership and management experience.
  • Outstanding communication skills and high-level industry designation(s).
  • Experience in developing direct reports and working in a high-pressure environment.
  • Master's Degree and/or Juris Doctor degree highly desirable.
