A sign-on bonus of up to $7,500 (subject to applicable taxes) is available for this position! The bonus is paid in three installments: 1st after 90 days, 2nd after one year, and 3rd after two years. Bonus recipients must commit to continuous full-time or part-time employment in an eligible position for two years with Porter Medical Center. Please note that current University of Vermont Health Network employees are excluded from eligibility for this bonus.

Shift Differentials:
Evening: $3.00 per hour
Night: $5.00 per hour
Weekend: $2.00 per hour (in addition to any applicable evening or night differentials)

Job Summary

The Licensed Nursing Assistant is responsible for working collaboratively under the direction of the Staff Nurse to deliver basic personal care support and specific aspects of patient care. Responsive communication, respect, and support to our residents are the central features of this position.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • State of Vermont LNA license
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work respectfully and successfully as a member of a team

About the Post Acute Unit

The Post Acute Unit at UVMHN Helen Porter Rehabilitation & Nursing offers supportive, goal-directed care following surgery and/or hospitalization. Specially-designed treatment programs help patients prepare, receive support, and education to enable a quick return home. The goal is to assist patients in achieving their highest level of independence. The unit treats various conditions including strokes, neurological issues, orthopedic care, respiratory and cardiac conditions, as well as post-trauma situations. Routine therapy services are provided Monday through Friday, with the option for six days a week if necessary. Nursing staff support therapy services when therapy staff are unavailable.
