Responsibilities
- Promote professionalism and maintain a cooperative working environment.
- Ensure specimens are obtained following laboratory guidelines.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills with care providers.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Organize workload and assist coworkers for productivity.
- Follow proper specimen packaging and transport protocols.
- Responsible for patient registration, lab test ordering, specimen processing, and distribution.
- Demonstrate infection control practices and proper patient identification.
- Perform drug screen collection and processing.
- Monitor phlebotomy draw list and assign phlebotomists.
- Engage in self-evaluation to improve knowledge and skills.
- Promote service excellence and growth within the laboratory.
Qualifications
- Job Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred Requirements: Certification as a phlebotomist upon hire, certification as a medical lab assistant within 2 years of hire, clinical experience is a plus.
