We are looking for a full-time Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) to join our team at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. As an MLA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring specimens are obtained, processed, and distributed accurately and efficiently. Responsibilities

• Promote professionalism and maintain a cooperative working environment.
• Ensure specimens are obtained following laboratory guidelines.
• Communicate pertinent data to care providers effectively.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Organize workload efficiently and assist coworkers as needed.
• Follow proper protocols for specimen handling and transport.
• Perform patient registration, sample processing, and distribution.
• Demonstrate proper infection control practices and patient identification.
• Perform drug screen collection and processing.
• Engage in self-evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Promote service excellence and growth of the laboratory.
• Carry out laboratory tests and assist with equipment preparation.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Job Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred Job Requirements: Certification as a phlebotomist upon hire, certification as a medical lab assistant within 2 years of hire, and experience in a clinical setting.
