Operations Supervisor I - Denver, CO

Job Description

We are seeking an Operations Supervisor I to join our team in Denver, CO at ABF Freight, an ArcBest company. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for planning, supervising, and ensuring the timely, safe loading/unloading of freight, maintaining load balance, coordinating work assignments, and fostering a values-driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control available resources for loading/unloading freight.
• Maintain load plans and ensure proper load balance for safe vehicle operation.
• Assign job tasks, coordinate work assignments, and monitor performances.
• Provide training, feedback, and disciplinary recommendations as needed.
• Ensure a clean, safe working environment for personnel and customers.
• Promote safe handling, loading, unloading, and storage of hazardous materials.
• Work collaboratively to achieve department goals and uphold company values.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience: Previous service center or transportation experience, with supervisory experience being a plus. Knowledge of freight handling techniques.
• Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Other Requirements: General knowledge of freight, imports, exports, and freight handling techniques.
