Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join The University of Vermont Health Network as part of the Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. The successful candidate will utilize the nursing process to deliver exceptional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring a seamless perioperative experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to patients during pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure monitoring, post-procedure critical evaluation, and recovery.
• Assist physicians during procedures and ensure effective pain management.
• Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and recovery.
• Become proficient in two of the following areas: Operating Room Circulating Nurse, Pre/Post Nurse, or Endoscopy Nurse.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State.
• Minimum two years of med/surg nursing experience; Critical Care experience preferred.
• ACLS certification required; PALS certification within 12 months.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
