Job Description

The University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team as a First Assistant. In this role, you will collaborate closely with surgeons to ensure safe operations and optimal outcomes for our patients. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience as an RN First Assistant and possess a current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont.

Education

Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all BSN nursing workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, an RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter. Current internal RNs are strongly encouraged to pursue a BSN to support this initiative.

Experience

An Registered Nurse First Assistant should have at least two years of practical experience functioning in that role and should also be able to provide at least a minimum of two letters of recommendation from surgeons who have worked directly with that person.
